I have been a user of instant messaging for a long time. What I didn't like about instant messaging (other than people thinking that because my computers are on all the time that I live on them...well, I do, but that's another story) was the need to have a different client for each network. And another thing I really didn't like was the ads that had crept into the products offered by the sponsoring networks. The last install of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) truly became the last as it took over my browser and made all sorts of changes to my settings that were difficult to override. These new features made it into my list of products not to use in a business environment.

Here at Amy's Answers we use several methods like RBL lists and Baysian filtering to thwart those pesky little spammers. Now yet another method has been added to the arsenal...greylisting.

Back in 1995 I was a Eudora email client user. At that time I ran my MACHKNIT list out of my IQUEST account and managed to take IQUEST down with mail volume. IQUEST blamed the problem on the Eudora mail client and Rob Novak, who worked there at the time, suggested I try Pegasus instead. I did and try as I might, I have never found an email client that is as powerful as Pegasus.
